The first trip to the dentist can be overwhelming for children. At our practice, we make sure to provide the most positive and enjoyable experience possible for your child. It allows us to build trust, which will help your child feel at ease during future dental appointments. Their comfort is our top priority.
At your child’s first visit, we will explain everything and answer any questions he/she may have. We ask that parents not make a big deal about the first dental visit, as to avoid making the child anxious or fearful of the experience. Our staff is highly trained in explaining the details to children in order to avoid anxiety or negative feelings about the dental industry.
During the first visit, we will record your child’s dental and medical history, performing a comprehensive initial examination. We’ll then go over any findings with you, as well as explain the importance of proper dental care. It’s best to instill proper dental practices early on, ensuring your child has a healthy, beautiful smile from day one!
Additionally, in accordance with the findings of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend that a child’s first dental visit be scheduled by his or her 1st birthday.
